THEY ROCK !!!

Review Date: January 20, 2008

I've owned these puppies for 6 months now and use them with a vintage 65 watts per channel Technics class A amp, no subuwoofer, for listening to ROCK music only. Once the break-in period is left behind -though I think it's mostly your ears that get used to the speakers- the apparent ¨harshness¨of the sound ( which I believe is more of a bad rap this brand had with older models than anything else) gives way to the most defined and clear sound these pair of ears have ever heard. And it's the incredibly lively midrange -guitars and brasses sound AWESOME !!- what provides the proverbial Klipsch signature sound.

Bottom end is almost surgical in it's flatness -read total absence of coloration- and it's not that that is a bad thing, it's only I'm used to speakers that are a tad ¨boomier¨for effect, even when I know it's not the ¨right¨ thing to expect from audiophile speakers; it's only a matter of tastes. With Klipsch, a kick-drum sound is as dry as it was recorded, period.

Upper treble is decent; cymbals have good presence, it's not overwhelming or harsh but is not the most neutral or natural-sounding eitheir; nothing to worry about there though, I like it anyway and don't think it could be be topped in its price range.

Stereo imaging is fantastic; the Tractix horns do and incredible job dispersing everything above 2100 hz over a 90 horizantal and 60 vertical degrees conical area which is way better than any other kind of tweeter can deliver.

At 95.5 db/w/m , the efficiency is very high, so you won't have to force your amp any more, resulting in ZERO distortion and longer life for amp and speakers.

What I liked the most was the materials used in the manufacture of the drivers; there're no paper or plastic involved, at all. The dual woofers are made of injection-molded GRAPHITE (read carbon) and the tweeter is aluminiun (read metal). Read durable.

I have thrown everything I got at these beasts at ear-bleeding levels(Venom-Slayer-Slipknot-Ozzy-Cannibal Corpse-Napalm Death etc) and they took them all with a smirk; is that everything you got,DUDE ?!

I had to choose between these and the dual 8¨JBL towers at the same price and upon listening I immediatedly relized the difference in favour of Klipsch. They ROCK, They're better built, louder, sturdier, more compact and versatile.....I LOVE them !!

The build is very good to excellent, nice finish, black w/ titanium coloured plastic, veneer-coated,internally braced , heavily fiber-glass padded thick mdf fiberboard enclosures with the best individually adjustable feet I've ever seen make these speakers a breeze to set up on any kind of floor you might have, and they won't tip over unless you are really a moron. They also have front-firing bass ports which is a blessing since they are less sensitive to placing in the room. Most speakers of today are rear-ported.

My only complaint ? I should have got myself the F3 for less than a mere U$ 200extr a bucks, serious s...t those, I'm tellin'ya !!!
Unbelievable for the price...

Ok, true audiophiles will probably not be satisfied with these. After all, you can get them (a pair) for under $800 and there are speakers out there that go for a lot more. So, if you are someone who is an expert at defining the quality of a set of speakers then go about your business.

Now, if you are basically a neophyte to speakers in any way, and you have the ability to put together a sound system that will rock your socks off when you are playing great music, then what you want to do is get you a set of these speakers, and match them to a great amplifier or receiver (I own an Onkyo A-9555 amplifier in the black color). Most people cannot lay down $2000 for a music system, let alone simply a pair of speakers. But for less than $1500 you can have a very good audio system here, and these speakers will also work with home theater ideas as well.

On the speakers themselves here's what I can tell you: they are magnificent. These were an upgrade from a pair of polkaudio TSi300 speakers and the difference is undeniable. Crisper, more clarified sound across all ranges with tremendous highs and amazing mids. (If you desire to get greater depth at bass might I recommend a pair of Cerwin Vega CLS-12 speakers to run along with these) The bass is quite good for speakers if this kind and the experience over the sorts of music I tend to like (rock and metal) comes across very good, if just a bit on the bright side. I am currently playing music with a crashing depth of sound and it sounds absolutely killer. Potent and refined, with generous gravity. For the price they cannot be beaten. There's not any better speakers on the market for the price.

So, grab you a pair, get you a nice power source, hook them up, and rock out.
If You Want Some Great Speakers, This Is The Place To Be!

After accidently pushing the wrong key and having all of my description erased, I'm back for a 2nd shot. I bought a pair of these Klipsch F-2's 2 weeks ago. If I could describe these speakers in two words, it would be: Holy Sh#*t. These speakers kicked my butt. When running a good reciever or amp, you will get the best out of these speakers. I have recently upgraded my home theater system, but before I bought these, I had the Klipsch KG4's. These were not bad speakers at all and they sounded better than most newer speakers that I have heard even though they were 25 years old (as old as me!). The reason I got the F-2's was because I heard the Synergy Series at Best Buy a few years back and I've had my heart set on them ever since (even though I heard the F-3's). I had a crappy reciever to today's standards, which was the Sony SRT-DE595 or something like that. No HDMI inputs or outputs, no Dolby True HD or DTS-Master, and it made the Klipsch KG4 horns sound more harsh the louder it got. It was good for what I used it for, but after buying a new reciever from Pioneer, I now know what power I have been missing. For those curious, I bought the Pioneer VSX-919AH-K and it made those KG4's sound amazing! But back to the product on this page, these Klipsh F-2's are just like musical angels to my ears... 400 watt angels. I can hear everything and more now, and sometimes little details in the higher range that I never noticed before. Do not be fooled by the dual 6 1/2" woofers! I tested them with a subwoofer test CD and I literally thought that my 10" subwoofer was on before I noticed I hadn't plugged it in. I heard frequencies so low that the air conditioner in the kitchen was making a waving sound by the time it reached my ears, and my girlfriend and I couldn't understand each other as I blasted the sub test. Now, I like good bass response, and this exceeded my expectations, but what I really liked was how clear the high frequencies cut through even during the most intense bass. And everything has a flat response, I love it! I like hearing things as they are ment to be heard, without coloring and added bass or treble. I'm not really good at describing things, as you are probably thinking that right now. If you don't beleive me, find some place you can check them out at and be prepared to be blown away by these speakers, and the Synergy Series in general. I have not heard $1000 or $20,000 speakers before, and I don't intend to anytime soon, but I don't understand how it can get better than this, especially for as much as these speakers cost. It's really just amazing to me! Watching blu-ray movies and listening to music will not be the same anymore :) These speakers will have a home for a long, long time.
