Product Description

The Synergy Series S-2 surround speaker brings a new dimension of reality, easy installation and affordability to the world of surround sound. This detailed performer uses Klipsch's exclusive Wide Dispersion Surround Technology(TM) (WDST) to produce ambient and localized sound with unlimited placement flexibility. Available in a black finish with titanium accents, the S-2 surround speaker offers two different contemporary looks: with its grille on, its elegance blends nicely with any home décor; with the grille off, it makes an aggressive, powerful statement.

The Synergy Series S-2 surround speaker benefits from more than 60 years of classic Klipsch horn technology and contemporary craftsmanship, delivering crystal-clear sonic detail through the its two 1" Tractrix(R) Horn loaded aluminum-dome tweeters and one 5.25" woofer. By aligning the two horns at 90 degrees to each other, flanking the front-firing woofer, the Synergy S-2 smoothly covers a 180-degree horizontal arc for maximum placement flexibility. This sophisticated surround speaker looks and sounds expensive, but it's actually offered at an enticing price that lets you experience the full impact of special effects, even within a modest budget.

Sterio Surround Sound Speakers

Speakers were shipped and received promptly.

The speakers produced exceptional surround sound with my system, a 130 watt per channel Sony system. I was especially impressed with the room-vibrating bass reproduction. The speakers are ceiling mounted directed into the room at a 45 deg angle. They replaced other speakers which just didn't do the same job as the Klipsch S-2 speakers.

I bought a pair of these speakers to replace a pair of 3 way Cerwin Vega speakers I was using for rear surround. The CV's sounded hollow for movies, but sounded great with music. I made a great decision going with the Klipsch speakers. Movies never sounded better and I get the "true surround experience" that was lacking with the CV's.

I have Cerwin Vegas in the front, the Klipsch for the rear surround and both music and video sound incredible. I had to reconfigure area and make adjustments from my receiver/amplifier (Onkyo THX) due to the power differences between the two brands, but the sound is perfect! I know these speakers seem a bit on the pricey side, but they are well worth the price, and Klipsch are leaders in acoustic technology. You really can't go wrong with Klipsch. I only wish I could afford their high end speakers. Someday....
BEST FOR DOLBY TRUEHD SETUPS!!!

these speakers are phenominal, i have 2 paired sets of these for all 4 of my surround in the back!!!! the 90 degree angle of the side 2 horns blast your ears full of the high tweets and things you never heard b4 in your old movies and the great new movies will keep you a couch patato!!! the center 5 1/4" keeps a good tone throuhout the entire range of sound that should be projected from all rear surround angles!!!! before I had my C-2 Center i actually used 1 pair of these for my Center and utilized other for my Rear Back x1 with a true 6.1 sound!!!! I have the entire Synergy F-2, C-2, S-2, Sub10 for a TrueHD 7.1 and this system rocks on a Yamaha RX-V1065BL (7x105w)!!! They dont distort til i hit about 75-80% Volume on my receiver!!! They look sweet with the grilles off, for a BadBoy Look, or very casual with the grilles on them for the contemporary kinda guy!!!
They are a lil bulky, if lookin for a small concealed speaker...this probly would not work!!! Hard to find compatible speaker mounts that would support them good enuf, so I had to actually take off stock mounts and just mount directly to a wall bracket!!!
Overall i would definately recommend Klipsch Synergy S-2 Level Lineup, if i had more i woulda done the F-3, C-3, S-3, Sub12 setup....but that another grand or so!!!
Top notch speakers

Very nice speakers for the money. I've been using Klipsch speakers for quite a few years now, and have always been satisfied. Replaced some older floor speakers for surrounds. These actually produce better sound and are wall mountable to save space. They now match my front floor stand speakers. Note that these have a slot for a 16d nail. I used one snap toggle for one speaker and a wood screw for the other.

Snap Toggle:[...]

Also good to note is that I used banana plugs, which extend too far past the terminals (you can remove the top of the terminal to plug in, unscrew for spade types, or just insert speaker wire into holes in the post), so I had to play with the standoff from the wall to make sure it fit right. Other than that, these are great speakers, especially for the price you pay. Would purchase again!
Not bad, but overpriced

It is replacement for my bookshelf Infinity what I have used as surround, so I've got better sound (I have Synergy F-2 as front speakers, C-1 as center ch and SUB 10"). I think it's overpriced and looks like Amazon just dropped the price, I believe they are should be around $250 (for pair). If I would start over from begin I would buy Reference speakers instead of Synergy.
